Dinosaur Bones At UK Museum Found To Be New Species

Bone fragments of a dinosaur which have been at the Natural History Museum, London, for over a century are now identified as a new species.

The skull fragment was first discovered by Reginal Tooley on the Isle of Wright. After his demise in 1924, the Natural History Museum acquired more than 1000 fossils from his personal collection. While the museum was able to recognize this particular fossil as that of a dinosaur, it was unable to exactly identify the species. As such, it was only labeled as a dinosaur fossil for more than a century until few researchers decided to dig deeper, no pun intended.
