Meet Influencer Victoria Barbara

There’s no question that Victoria Barbara is currently one of the biggest names in the fashion  industry. Not only is she an honoree of Vogue 100 but she sat front row at Paris Fashion Week for an endless list of brands including Chanel, Givenchy, Dior, Balmain and more.  Today we had the opportunity to speak to the stunning Miami born, Cuban influencer who has over 900,000  followers and counting.

What have you learnt as a Fashion Influencer over the years? What advice would you give to your younger self?

I have truly learned to be myself as an influencer.  I would say in learning  through many experiences I would remind my younger self the same.  Stay true to who you are and keep going.  Do not allow anyone to sexualize or devalue you.

You have worked with many powerhouse brands over the years including Chanel, Givenchy, Valentino and more. What brands are next on your bucket list?

I have been blessed to work with so many wonderful brands.  With the direction the Fashion Industry is going in I want to work with sustainable brands and emerging new artists.

What has been your favourite collaboration to date and why?

Dior.  As a brand they have been true to my heart.  It was a dream collab for me I really admire Maria Grazia Chiuri.  She is known for empowering women.  Dior stands for sophistication and originality which strongly resonates with me.

You have a substantial following of almost 1 million Instagram followers. Was there a turning point where your followers started to grow exponentially or was it gradual?

As a former swimsuit model I had a large male following.   When I made the transition to Fashion I actually lost a lot of followers.  I have had to work really hard to gain women’s trust and respect as an a fashion influencer. Because of that I appreciate my followers so much more.  I am really grateful.

How do you think Instagram has impacted the Fashion industry?

Fashion shows used to be an exclusive event, now brands offer live streaming of the shows. It also allows brands to communicate directly to their consumers.

It’s a combination depending on the weather.  I use Skin London Design, Augustinus Bader, Barbara Sturm.  I love beauty products and since I do not have sensitive skin I am able to experiment with all of my favorite brands.
