Former First Lady Melania Trump has joined the NFT foray with her first offering, a painting of herself.
On Thursday, Melania Trump announced the launch of her NFT platform. The first offering on the platform was a painting of Mrs. Trump, titled ‘Melania’s Vision’. Created by French artist Marc-Antoine Cuolon this year, the painting features Trump’s eyes in dynamic colors. In an Instagram post, Cuolon talked about the painting: “I am very glad and honored to collaborate in this operation with Mrs. Melania Trump. This collaboration has taken place under the best possible auspices with full artistic confidence and with great efficiency and understanding on both sides of the common expectations for such a charitable operation.”
Accompanying the announcement of the platform, Melania Trump also said: “I am proud to announce my new NFT endeavor, which embodies my passion for the arts and will support my ongoing commitment to children through my Be Best initiative.” She also added that a portion of the revenues from the NFT will go towards the care of children who have aged out of the foster care system. While it doesn’t specify what portion will go towards it, the post mentioned that it will focus on teaching these kids computer skills.

The NFT also comes with a voice recording of Trump, which she dubs as her “message of hope”. The cost of the NFT is fixed at one Solana. Solana is a cryptocurrency that could be bought with a credit card and is currently priced at $150. The current sale will go through till December 31. Trump also stated that artworks would be added on the platform regularly, with three more additions coming in January next year.
