Ornella De Rosa, known as DRO ARTE, is a talented artist born and raised in Brescia, Italy. She inherited her artistic skills from her mother, who was a painter, and started learning drawing and the use of color at an early age. Today, she is an accomplished artist with over fifteen years of experience and has participated in several prestigious exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.
Education and Training
After completing her technical high school diploma, Ornella pursued her passion for art by enrolling in the Academy of Arts in Brescia, where she studied painting and decoration. She also attended several free courses in glass painting, watercolor, and photography to hone her skills further.
To expand her knowledge in art restoration, she took an annual course in wood restoration at the Botticino School of Arts and Crafts and another annual course in conservation and restoration of documents at the Fondazione Civiltà Bresciana in Brescia.
Career and Achievements
Ornella has been working as an artist for over fifteen years and is the president of a cultural artistic association based in Franciacorta. She also teaches drawing and painting courses organized within the civic school and private art galleries.
In 2021, Ornella enrolled in the three-year sculpture course held by Prof. Cesare Monaco at the Ricchino School of Rovato (BS) to expand her skills further.
Ornella has participated in several personal and collective exhibitions in prestigious galleries and institutional sites both in Italy and abroad. Her work has been recognized in numerous competitions, and she has obtained gratifying results.
Recently, she was selected as a participating artist in the Dubai Expo Abu-Dhabi 2020/2021 Pace and Amore Italian selection by the Commissioner for Italy, Prof. She was also a part of the exhibition TROISI POETA MASSIMO in Castel dell’Ovo, curated by Cinecittà, Istituto Luce, and Beni Culturali Municipality of Naples.
Ornella’s art has been reviewed and appreciated by several experts, including Prof. Paolo Levi, Prof. Vittorio Sgarbi, and Dr. Annalisa Sacchetti Puntelli, among others. She has also been featured in several art catalogs and articles dedicated to her work.
Solo Exhibition
In April of last year, the Municipality of PASSIRANO sponsored Ornella’s solo show, IL COLORE DELLE EMOZIONI, at the historic Villa Fassati Barba located in Passirano. The exhibition featured a retrospective of her works created in recent years.
The event also marked the presentation of books published by the SWANBOOK publishing house, all with covers designed by Ornella herself.
