Memorabilia from the sets of the popular show Downton Abbey would hit the auction before the release of its final film.
One of the most popular British shows in the world, Downton Abbey originally ran for six seasons between 2010-2015. It was followed by two films. Now, the third film in the series is set to release in September, which would also officially mark the end of the franchise. But before that happens, fans would get a chance to get their hands on relics of the iconic show.
Bonhams is organizing the online auction on its website, which will run between August 18 and September 16. The auction would feature a large range of props, costumes, and set pieces from the show. This includes the harem pants worn by Lady Sybil that could go for 800 pounds, and the wedding costume, which might go for up to 5000 pounds. Other items include the wall of bells of the Crawley family, the dresses worn by Dame Maggie Smith, the clapper board from the first film, and the script of the pilot episode signed by the main cast.

Charlie Thomas, group director of Bonhams UK, praised the show as “the very best of British television and filmmaking”. He also added, “The costumes and props show the impressive attention to detail that brought the world to life on screen, making it so beloved by millions across the globe.” This is not the first time Bonhams has held an auction for TV props. In 2024, more than 450 memorabilia from another hit period drama, “The Crown”, were auctioned for 1.7 million pounds.
