Greene Naftali has made an announcement about adding two new artists to its list of artists represented by them. The New York-based Green Natali will now represent artists named Cory Arcangel and Andy Robert according to a press release.
Now, we have known that Cory Arcangel is a multimedia artist whereas Andy Robert is a painter. Talking about Cory Arcangel, this artist’s work is heavily involved with technology and electronics. The words from Cory also include post-conceptualism and consumerism.
Greene Naftali has also announced that Cory Arcangel will have his first show in Spring 2021 at Greene. Before Greene Naftali, Cory was represented by Team Gallery which is from New York as well. However, his first show was a group one along with Maria Marshall and Jon Routson.
Andy Robert is an artist who lives in Brooklyn, New York, and is said to be an emerging artist and is represented by Los Angeles’ Hannah Hoffman. He is known to be having works related to painting mosaic-like, topographical textures and his subjects are something that are related to his previous life. It is known that Andy lived in Haiti before coming to New York and one can see the influence of his time spent in Haiti in his paintings. In Fall 2020, Andy Robert will have his first show at Greene Naftali.
Co-founder of Greene Naftali gallery, Carol Greene, said “I feel that both of these artists represent the future, as far as the issues their work engages with. For me as a gallerist, I’m always looking for an artist that challenges a paradigm, Cory is already a sort of seminal figure in terms of how his work interacts with tech, and Andy is on the cutting edge of a painting future. He is definitely pushing painting forward. [Both artists] increase the range of ideas that Greene Naftali would like to represent.”
