We were not aware until now about who the actual owner of World War II Memorabilia is. However, a new lawsuit filing now reveals who the owner really is. And it has been found out that the collection is owned by Billionaire collector named Ronald S. Lauder. This fact was revealed by Ronald S. Lauder himself due to the federal lawsuit filed. This collection of the World War II memorabilia was purchased by him for $25 Million.
Also, the memorabilia contains 3,500 books, 500,000 photographs, 100 uniforms, 1,650 posters, and a Russian anti-tank cannon and other objects which were part of World War II. Previously, these objects were owned by the International Museum of World War II in Natick, Massachusetts.
Now, the lawsuit claims that the Museum has refused to ship the collection to him in a timely fashion and he also claims that the museum is “stonewalling” the collection according to a lawsuit filed by Ellenville LLC. owned by Lauder
Apparently, the Billionaire collector made an agreement with the museum to show this collection of World War II memorabilia by the end of this year. However, Lauder has now asked to take the work off early from the museum and ship the collection to him. Lauder’s lawsuit claims that the museum is attempting to keep him from doing so.
The lawsuit further claims that Lauder has the right to remove his holdings from the museum at any time. Although the museum declined to comment on this lawsuit, the lawyer who is representing the museum showed a letter send by his firm to Lauder’s legal team. In the letter, it has been claimed that Lauder’s demands are “arbitrary” and “unreasonable”.
The lawsuit filing also reveals that Lauder is not asking for any monetary damages and he just wants to seek the return of his collection from the museum and wants to display “the artefacts it owns publicly in locations of its choice”
