Private home designed by Ai Weiwei in the US is available for sale at $5 Million

A property that was built in the year 2006 for Christopher Tsai is available for sale right now. However, it has to be said that this private home will be available for a price of $5 Million. This can be considered a very steep price to pay for the private home. But it is also worth the price when you come to know that it is designed by none other than Ai Weiwei. Apparently, this is the only private home ever designed by Ai Weiwei in the US.

Talking about the private home, it has to be said that the asking price for this home is slightly less than the auction record for work of Ai at $5.4 Million. This means that at $5 Million, you will still not pay a record price for Ai Weiwei’s work which is a great deal and you can also live in it. Graham Klemm, who is overseeing the sale mentions in the listing that “This is livable art”. The listing description adds that “it’s still very livable and practical, and [has] everything a luxury homeowner would want.”

Coming to looking at this private home as a living home itself, we can note that this is a 2800-square-foot structure. The structure is made uniquely out of four cubes which are connected by interior passageways. You have three bedrooms, the same number of bathrooms, two living rooms as well as a guest room too. Apart from that, you have three fireplaces inside this private home designed by Ai Weiwei.

It has been revealed that art collector and Chinese-American businessman Christopher Tsai commissioned this private home first way back in 2013. This property is located in Ancram, New York, which is just two hours outside the city. Although we now know Tsai for this private home, he is also famous for designing the “Bird’s Nest” stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics with Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron.
