The destination to get news about Art

Ramsay Fairs buys Volta Art Fair whose New York Edition was scrapped earlier this year

You must be aware that there are a lot of art fairs taking place around the world. And it is also a fact that not every art fair will be successful. So the decision to scrap some editions of Art Fairs have to be made and the same was the case with Volta Air Fair. The New York Edition of Volta Art Fair was scrapped earlier this year. Now, the Volta Art Fair presents in New York and Basel while focusing on emerging artists. However, it was only left with the Basel edition as New York edition was scrapped.

We are now getting reports that the Volta Art Fair has been sold to the Ramsay Fairs by its owner, Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. It is known that the Ramsay Fairs already own Affordable Art Fair and the Pulse Art Fair. The news about Volta Art Fair’s sale was first reported by the Financial Times in a report.

Now, it is known that the New York edition of Volta Art Fair was cancelled due to structural issues on Pier 92 on Manhattan’s West Side. Mart Merchandise then moved the Armony exhibitors to Pier 90 meant to house Volta. Volta Art Fair will now take place at the Metropolitan West on West 64th street near the piers under its new owner, the Ramsay Fairs.

Ramsay Fairs now owns 16 fairs on 12 different continents, including editions of the Affordable Art Fair in five different cities along with Pulse, a Miami Basel satellite that runs every December. As per the report by Financial Times, Ramsay Fairs is planning “to invest more in marketing and the fair experience,” and it is also said that Ramsay Fairs has no plan to merge Volta with its other Fairs. However, the Volta team is said to work closely with the Pulse team
