Louvre To Remain Closed As Protests Rock France

The Louvre announced that it will remain closed on Monday amidst the ongoing unrest from protests in Paris and across France.
The decision came after more than four dozen protestors, later identified to be students, blocked the iconic glass pyramid entrance of the museum. Earlier, widespread protests rocked Paris and other places in France over the weekend. The protests were organized against growing social inequality in the country, particularly in the education sector. While initially peaceful, clashes between the protesters and the police turned violent. Throughout the weekend, multiple reports of property destruction and arson came up. While the clashes slowed down yesterday, it is still too early to assume normalcy.
