We have seen that there are some strange things that take place in the Art Industry. However, one of the veterans in the Art Industry who is a noted Art Collector announced something “bizarre” last year. Howard Schultz, who is an Art Collector and has been the former CEO of Starbucks announced he will be running for US Presidential Elections. Now, everyone in the Art Industry and Political sphere was left surprised at this move from Howard.
But we now have some more strange news coming out of the Howard Schultz camp. The latest news regarding his US Presidential campaign is that he has decided to drop out of the race. Howard, who has remained as the chairman as well as chief executive of the famous coffee chain, Starbucks, announced his decision. Interestingly, he has also given a reason which is very unique for dropping out of the race. He says “not enough people today are willing to consider backing an independent candidate because they fear doing so might lead to re-electing a uniquely dangerous incumbent president.”
It must be noted that Howard Schultz was not associated with any party in the US and he wanted to run for Presidency as an Independent candidate. But it looks like he did not have enough support. He also added in a letter regarding what kind of Democrat he would ultimately be competing with and he also talked about the back injury he suffered in April this year.
Howard says that he wanted to run as a Centrist Independent and he knows that he might split a vote against Donald Trump. But he says that he wanted the current Commander-in-chief out of the office. Talking about Howard’s relation with the Art Industry, he is among the Top 200 collectors since 2016 along with his wife Sheri.
