We have seen that there have been a lot of promotions as well as representations in recent times. Now, this latest news comes from the Whitney Museum of Art in New York. It has been announced that Whitney Museum has promoted David Breslin who was working as the Director of Collections at the museum as Director of Curatorial initiatives.
Along with that, Jane Panetta who was the associate curator and also worked as the co-curator of 2019 Whitney Biennial has been promoted as the Director of Collection at the Whitney Museum. It is also revealed that Breslin and Panetta will take up their new roles at the museum from October this year.
Breslin will work closely with the senior deputy director and chief curator Scott Rothkopf in overseeing the department and developing Whitney’s exhibition program. Also, he will continue to acquire works curate exhibitions for the museum.
He said that “The Whitney’s mission always has been to foster the work of artists. The initiatives we take on embrace that history while preparing for a future that reflects the dynamic and changing contours of American art and culture.”
Panetta, on being appointed as the Director of Collection, at the Whitney Museum said that “I look forward to working even more closely with the extraordinary collection that is at the heart of the institution and that has been deeply important to me since joining the Museum,”
