Jeff Koons Designs Evian Bottles For 200th Anniversary

Artist Jeff Koons, renowned for his sculptures, has joined hands with Evian water to design its special edition bottles to mark its 200th anniversary.

Koons designed two versions of the Evian bottles, both having a slightly curvy shape and a metallic icon of his famous balloon dog, wrapped within a silver ribbon. The still water version sports a pink cap and a pink balloon dog, while the sparkling water version has the same things but in blue. Speaking about the collaboration, Jeff Koons said: “I chose to incorporate my iconic Balloon Dog in the design because it not only resonates with the brand’s own iconic status but is also directly related to this celebratory, optimistic—and I believe life-giving—moment.”

It was not disclosed just how many bottles of this special edition would be produced. Besides Koons, Evian also collaborated with a range of athletes, ranging from tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu to golfer Céline Boutier. This is also not the first time the company has collaborated with artists. There has been a range of artists and designers joining hands with the company, with Virgil Abloh designing the bottles in 2019.

Evian water was first “discovered” in the town of Évian-les-Bains in the French Alps in 1789. The process of filtration through glacial rocks made the water a source of amazement. In 1826, the King of Piedmont-Sardinia launched the bottling of this water, and thus, the brand Evian was born.
