Louvre To Teach Yoga At The Paris Olympics

The Louvre Museum has geared up for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris – with yoga classes for all.

The Louvre is perhaps the most popular museum in the world. It is also the last place you might associate with sports. But for the upcoming Paris Olympics, the prestigious venue seems to have made an exception. In fact, it seems the Louvre is all too eager to be part of the grand event.

Run in the Louvre” was unveiled on Wednesday to the general visitors and select officials. The program offers a 10-minute physical activity session in the iconic music. This includes performing yoga at the Cour Marly section which generally exhibits sculptures from the personal collection of French King Louis XIV. Laurence des Cars (Director, Louvre Museum) said: “The Louvre is physically in the center of Paris. It will be physically at the center of the Olympic Games.”

The Louvre is not the only French institution gearing up for the Paris Olympics. Place de la Concorde saw a temporary stadium built on its campus which would host the skateboarding and breakdancing events. Similarly, Musee d’Orsay will host a few other Olympic events. It is quite evident that the entire city is leaving no stone unturned to host the Paris Olympics, which would be the first to be held in this city in exactly a century (the last Olympics were held here in 1924). It would also make Paris only the 2nd city in the world to host the Olympics three times.
