On the morning of 22nd February, members of Everyone Hates Elon, an anti-billionaire activist group, posted a picture of Prince Andrew on the walls of the Louvre. The photograph, taken by Phil Noble, captured Andrew in Norfolk on February 19. It featured the former prince slumped at the back of the police car moments after he was arrested.
The work was titled “He Is Sweating Now – 2026“, a reference to the 2019 BBC interview in which Prince Andrew claimed to be suffering from a medical condition that makes him unable to sweat. The museum removed the photograph within 15 minutes, though it is unclear how the activists managed to post it there, or whether the museum would be pursuing any legal action against them.
The Instagram page of Everyone Hates Elon later posted a video, saying “They say ‘hang it in the Louvre.’ So we did,”, while also demanding justice for the victims. Prince Andrew is currently in hot water for his alleged link with Jeffrey Epstein and suspicions of trading confidential government documents with him. If proven guilty, he could receive a life sentence.

Prince Andrew was one of the first high-profile names to be revealed in association with infamous sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. In the immediate aftermath, he was stripped of his royal titles and is now only known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The British Royal Family also disowned him publicly. In 2019, a woman by the name of Virginia Giuffre claimed that Andrew went with her to a London nightclub in the early 2000s when she was only 17, and “sweated all over me”. In response, in a BBC interview the same year, he denied all associations with Epstein and added that he was medically unable to sweat. He settled with Giurffe outside the court in 2022.
