Another statue of US President Donald Trump has appeared in Washington, DC, this time featuring Jeffrey Epstein.
The statue shows Trump and Epstein holding hands in a carefree way, with smiles and one leg each in the air. The 12-foot statue, which is titled ‘The Secret Handshake’, is made using wood, resin, and foam. The creators, who are also behind many other Trump-related statues that have popped up in DC recently, have chosen to remain anonymous and simply call themselves ‘the Secret Handshake’ as well.The statue comes with three plaques. One of them reads “In the United States of America, you have the freedom to display your so-called ‘art,’ no matter how ugly it is. — The Trump White House, June 2025.”, referring to the statement released by the Trump administration after one of the previous installations by the group. Another plaque reads “In celebration of Friendship Month”, pointing out that September is unofficially known as the month of friendship. The plaque refers to the alleged friendship between Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex trafficker who mysteriously died in prison awaiting trial.

The Epstein Files, a list purportedly containing the names of those who visited his infamous island, has been a subject of much political uproar for some months. After being a main talking point of the Trump campaign, the FBI and the Trump administration have been evasive in releasing the list. There have also been allegations that Donald Trump himself a name on the list. The third plaque features a sketch of a naked woman and a message saying “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday—and may every day be another wonderful secret.”, followed by Trump’s signature. This refers to a birthday message allegedly written by Trump for Epstein, as reported by the New York Times.
